formats not correct in query calculated fields

I am using an adp and whenever I use fields that are the
result of calculations in a query I can not apply a
format to these fields in a report. Not matter what
format I set the number will always display as
0000.000000000 . This only happens when using Access XP
runtime, when run with Access XP full version the reports
format correctly. Is this a runtime bug?
