Formatting a merged data field from excel

I have a field in excel that is a calculated percentage field without any
decimals. When the field is imported into the letter in word the full result
is displayed. How do I get the field to show the same as it does in Excel.
(i.e. Actual value 9.2541%, displayed value in excel 9%.)

I tried to use the formatting, but it didn't show the number just the % sign
or nothing at all.

Any help is appreciated.
