formatting a MS Project task row in the Gantt chart?

Question -

Is there an easy way to manually change the background
color on a single task line? For instance, in Excel you
can right click on that cell and easily change the
background color to whatever you want. I couldn't seem to
find a way to do this in MS Project.

I wanted to know if you have the option to pick a single
row or multiple rows if you want and easily change the
background color of that row. It could be a summary task
line or an individual indented task. I would think you
would have similar options in MS Project as you do in
Excel to format a single cell but am not sure.

hope that makes sense, thanks!

Hello Lisa,
Sorry, you can't change the backgroud of cells in Ms Project.

Sorry to hear that! Looks like you can set up some kind
of group or filter to do it, seems silly that you have to
go through all that just to format a cell! Any plans to
add this in the future!!

No, there's no way to format cells even using filters!

Ask Microsoft :)

Hi Lisa,

To add to Gerard's answer, and to ensure that there is no mis-interpretation. As Gerard said, you cannot change the BACKGROUND colour, but you can change the colour of the task bar itself. Just, double-click on the bar and you'll see the options.

James.
