Formatting a paper

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I was trying to put in a section break into a story I was writing. I used the star button for a whole line when i hit enter it became blocks. I no longer need these lines and can't figure out home to delete them. Can you help me?

Use Format>Borders and Shading...

It's a Paragraph attribute.
