Formatting a word with one letter of larger (and sub) case

This doesn't sound as easy as I thought it would be. I want to put a
word in a document, where one letter will be larger, and slightly
below the line on which the other letters are. Here's my example:
Let's use the word 'VICTORY'. I want the first letter ('V') to be a
few points larger (let's say 32 pts vs 24 for all of the others), and
I want the bottom of the 'V' to be below the line of all the others.
The top of all of the letters in 'VICTORY' should be aligned, however.
Can anyone advise me how to do this?
