Formatting Bars

I am running MS Project 2002 Pro.

When I double click on a bar, I am able to select what text shows up to the
left, to the right, on top and so forth. The appropriate text shows on
almost all bars but there are a couple which will not get me the value of the
text for the top of the bar even after repeatedly setting it.

What could I be missing?

Rather than clicking on single bars, go to format menu/barstyles and do your
formatting there.
