I would like to format a column of cells to continue a series of dates.Ny goal is to show the dates for every Monday & Thursday, I begin my sequence by typing 2/2/09, 2/5/09, 2/9/09, 2/12/09 in each cell, I drag and extend the series, I ensure that "fill series" is checked but excel just copies exactly the dates that I typed.
I noticed that excel functions properly when I need a weekly sequence of just Monday dates, does excel not understand my sequence because it is a Monday & Thursday, can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Thanks!

A three-day then four-day gap appears to be a bit too complex for XL to
figure out on its own.

Try:

A1: 2/2/2009
A2: =A1+3
A3: =A2+4

Select A2:A3 and drag the fill handle down.

You can get rid of the formulae by copying the selected cells, then
choosing Edit/Paste Special, selecting the Values radio button.
