Formatting changes when I add rows

Freezing in Minneapolis

When I attemt to add rows in a template or worksheet, the text below the
header column changes to bold and the column widths contract, adding extra
columns on the right. The smart button does not appear after the insert,
even though it is selected in preferences. I just need to add additional
rows to make new data entries.
