Formatting columns

Hello,

I am interested in locking columns, so that users can only enter in a
certain format given a particular cell; i.e. date can only be entered in
yyyy/mm/dd, or only certain words would be valid for entry.

I have searched in vain all over google and the access help pages. Anyone
have a hint??

You would define all of that in your FORM, not in your table.

You can set the Input Mask property of table fields. It's pretty
limited and can be frustrating for the user, though.

Setting the format of a Date/Time field in a table is pretty
pointless, though; the date is NOT stored formatted, it's stored as a
double float number of days since an arbitrary start point. Data
storage and data display *are two separate functions*.
