Formatting copied from elsewhere

Hi,

Occasionally I get formatting in my Word documents that I don't want. I
can reproduce it by cutting text from a website and then pasting it into
Word. It comes out double-spaced (that is, with an implicit blank line
in between each line). I can't select the blank lines to delete them
and I can't find the option that allows me to reset it. Saving the file
as .txt and reloading doesn't remove it.

Also, is there any option to paste text and remove all formatting from
it as you go?

Yes, you can paste as text. This is a lot easier in Word 2004, but you
can do it in earlier versions by choosing Paste Special. m.
