Formatting Emails in Outlook Express

Can some clever dude out there please enlighten me about how to get the
formatting tools in Outlook Express to work. It's so frustrating ! We have a
brand new PC with 200 gb HD and all the latest whizz-bang gear and up to date
programs including SP2 etc.
It was working at one stage, and now not. SAme for my emails using
Hotmail.com. Even if I format stuff in Word it will change back to the
default of its own accord.
Yes, I have turned on "Rich Text" and anything else I can see that would
help....even reinstalling Works doesn't seem to help ! ???
(No, I am obviously not PC literate....just the basics...)

This is a Microsoft Access newsgroup, not Microsoft Outlook Express. You
might look at other messages in a newsgroup before you post to it. You
would have found that this group deals with visual basic modules in Access
databases. Not even close to what you are looking for.
