Formatting in Project Pro

I'm connected with Project Professional 2007 to a Project Server 2007
instance. When I highlight a column and change the background color to
another color and save the project, the background color is lost when
I go back into the project. It works fine in a standalone .mpp file,
but doesn't work in a server environment. Is this behavior by design?

Yes it is by design.
You are likely working in one of the enterprise views. Try creating your own
view or using the local "Gantt" view.
Changes to those views should persist.

Thanks Jack. Yes, its a highly customized enterprise view. It was
created from scratch using mostly enterprise custom fields as the
columns. I'm not sure what you mean by "create your own view". Could
you elloborate?

To make a new view:
From the views menu select "more views" and create a new view or copy an
existing one.
