Formatting lost when submitting via email

I'm pretty new to this so it maybe something simple that I'm missing.
I've created a couple of forms in Infopath and set them up to email to a
(Domino) mailbox. The form looks great in designer mode and through the
browser but as soon as the submit button is pressed and the email is received
in the mailbox it looks rubbish. The format for the first half of the page is
fine but then after that it squashes all text and buttons etc into a field
thats about an inch wide!

What have a I done wrong?

It is difficult to understand completely to understand your issue.
