Formatting Numbered Lists

Would like to be able to insert line in front of numbered
list, as well as go back and type on the individual
lines. Is that possible? Trying to develop format for
creating exam answer keys.

You can add some underlines and spaces before the autonumber in numbered
lists, but you can't go back and type on them. For your purposes, you may
have to adapt a List style and type your own numbers (or use a SEQ or
LISTNUM field). If you want users to be able to type in answers, you might
want to consider using underlined form fields. See
