formatting palette goes for a hike

Hi
Recently, and I don't know what I did to provoke it, my Word formatting
palette disappeared off the bottom of my screen. (I know it's there
rather than, say, gone totally, because I can see it whooshing there
and whooshing back into the toolbar when I click on the palette icon.)

I'm pretty sure I can get it back by trashing my preferences, but I
don't want to do that, because it took me a while to turn off all the
features that I have no use for, and I don't want to have to look for
them all again.

Anyone got any ideas?

While using Word, try going into System Preferences>Display & setting your
resolution to a lower value. If the palette appears, drag it toward the
center of your screen, then set the resolution back to whatever it was
before.

If that doesn't help, check back for other options.

Thanks Bob, worth a try, but it didn't work. The palette is off screen
at every resolution available.

Woo-hoo!

Thanks.

I've been using Word 2004 for a while now, and this was the first time
it happened. I have no evidence, but I think it may have something to
do with having the formatting palette bottom left, and the dock on the
left too, because the problem never occurred when I had the palette top
right (where it keeps getting in the way).
