Formatting Palette

On only one very important (of course) spreadsheet (with 14 sheets),
the Formatting Palette does not function properly. It appears when
selected from the "View" menu or from the main toolbar, but deminished
in size and entirely "dimmed".

The Formatting Palette window only contains the "worksheet" bar which
is opened but dimmed.

I would like to "reset" the Formatting Palette by can not find where
to do so.

Try unprotecting your worksheet or workbook (Tools/Protection).
