Formatting Palette

Is there a way to set the default for the formatting palette so that,
whenever I open Word, the palette appears fully expanded? I'm tired of
clicking the little arrows to expand each of the palette's four or five
separate panels. Thanks.

We did ask for a customisable formatting palette, but we didn't get it.
