formatting pictures in line with text

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Hi. My version of mac word (2004) will not let me format some pictures/objects inline with text (the document was created on a PC) while i am able to do so with other pictures/objects within the same document. In the cases of the former images,the default seems to be set to in front of text. I am unable to highlight inline with text option in the wrapping style box. I can pick every other option but inline with text. Help!

Can you be more specific about what these "pictures/objects" happen to be?

What version of Win Word was used to create the document?

Are there any additional details about the doc's construction you can offer?
