Formatting pictures inserted into a text box?

I'm new at this a bit. I want to make a newsletter for my crew. I downloaded a template from the Microsoft website. It is designed with text boxes. When I insert a graphic ("insert>picture>from file") I can't see it. I learned to change the auto format of the text box to "clear formatting", then I see the graphic. However, when I right-click it and try to format it, it won't let me change the text-wrapping. What I want to do is put a graphic inside a text box and have the text wrap around that graphic. Any suggestions?? Chris

That won't work. Textboxes don't support text wrap formatting.

Which version of Word are we dealing with?

(Note: for this particular question, the word.drawing.graphics group might have been more appropriate)

Cindy, Thank you for answering
I have Office XP (which I think is Word 2002). I did our newsletter 4 years ago and as I remember I used Word Perfect and not Word because of the difficulty of dropping pictures in easily. The template I downloaded from the Microsoft web site has a few graphics in it (inside text boxes) but I'm not sure how they did it. I will examine the template more closely and then I'll go to word.drawing.graphics afterwards (I used this forum as I am a "newuser"). Thanks for your help! Chris in Maine

Word 2002

In this case, I'd look at placing the graphics in TABLES,
because you can use textwrap in tables. And tables can
"float" like textboxes. A bit tricky, but it should work.
