Formatting problem with "AutoTextList" field

Someone else built the form using Tables in Word.
I want to update the form by using the AutoTextList field in several
places.

I have been to the
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/index.htm
site and followed the "How to use the AutoTextList field" procedure
given there.

My problem is that I cannot get the "Bold" part of the format "Normal
+ 14pt, Bold, Centred" to "stick".

The cell in the table is formatted to "Normal + 14pt, Bold, Centred",
so that if I make an entry manually, it is formatted correctly as
specified. When the entry is made by making a selection from the
AutoTextList, the "Bold" gets dropped.

I've tried selecting the entire list of entries and applying the
format before entering them, one by one, into the list
(Insert/AutoText/AutoText/Add). Everything looks fine until I
actually make a selection from the AutoTextList, whereupon the chosen
item reverts back to NOT Bold.

If I use the "AA" (Styles and Formatting) button, it shows "Normal +
14pt, Bold, Centred" - but the selected text is NOT BOLD!!! The size
and centering seem to work ok - just the "bold" gets dropped. (I need
to double check this!)

Once the chosen entry has been inserted into the cell from the
AutoTextList, I can then select the entry and make it Bold by using
the normal Bold button on the Word toolbar.

I've also tried leaving the paragraph mark on the end of each entry,
but of course, that also enters a 'linefeed' into the cell after the
chosen entry.

Any ideas please? thanks.

Bold is a toggle feature. If a selection is already bold (as in the style)
and you apply Bold to some or all of it, you get non-bold.

The formatting should be in the AutoText itself. To create the field, you
presumably defined a style for the AutoText entries. Include bold as part of
that style and make sure that the cell/form field itself is formatting with
that style.
