Formatting Question

Hi,

I seem to have lost the ability to format in Word. I have two networked
computers and this seemed to happen when I was working on the laptop. Now I
can't centre a paragraph - the whole document gets centred and I can't use,
say, double spacing on a paragraph because the whole document is affected.

Any suggests what I can do, PLEASE?

Uncheck the automatically update box in the format style dialog.

Thanks for this - I checked this out but it is already unchecked

Hmm - that is the route by which this error occurs - see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/WholeDocumentReformatted.htm.
If all else fails, rename normal.dot to oldnormal.dot and restart Word. Word
will build a new default template. You can then copy personalisations from
old to new if needed.
