DontKnow

Hi Guys,

Another question for you guns:

I have a set of text that looks like this: (Sorry I can't show the bold in
the text so I have place the <bolded in word>. All words to the left of
"<bolded in word>" are in bold)

5.12. <bolded in word>
Miscellaneous Indications 5.12.1. <bolded in word>
General <bolded in word>Indications not explicitly covered should operate as
follows: Normal state: Name of indication in grey text on display.
Not normal state: Name of indication in yellow text on display.

I want it to look like this:

5.12. Miscellaneous Indications <bolded in word>
5.12.1. General <bolded in word>
Indications not explicitly covered should operate as follows: Normal state:
Name of indication in grey text on display.
Not normal state: Name of indication in yellow text on display.

I can't seem to get this right even using your previous help!!

I hope it is clear for you!!
(We need to be able to place Bold print in here so you guys can see what I
am trying do to!!)

Many thanks!

It is going to make it easier to tell exactly what you are starting with if
you click on the Show/Hide button ¶ and then in your newsgroup post, you use
Alt + 0182 on the numeric keypad to show where the ¶ appear.

For example are you starting with

5.12. <bolded in word>¶
Miscellaneous Indications 5.12.1. <bolded in word>¶
General <bolded in word>Indications not explicitly covered should operate as
follows: Normal state: Name of indication in grey text on display.
Not normal state: Name of indication in yellow text on display.¶

It that is correct, you could perform a wildcard Replace where, in the Find
and Replace dialog, you check the Use wildcards box and click on the Format
button and then on Font and then on Bold and in the Find what control,
insert

([A-z ]{1,})

and in the Replace with control, insert

\1^p

You will then get

5.12. ¶

Miscellaneous Indications¶
5.12.1. ¶

General¶
Indications not explicitly covered should operate as
follows: Normal state: Name of indication in grey text on display.
Not normal state: Name of indication in yellow text on display.¶

Then, if you uncheck the Use wildcards box, but leave the formatting set to
Bold and in the Find what control, you insert

^p^p

and you leave the Replace with control empty, you will get

5.12. Miscellaneous Indications¶
5.12.1. General¶
Indications not explicitly covered should operate as
follows: Normal state: Name of indication in grey text on display.
Not normal state: Name of indication in yellow text on display.¶
