Formatting template gone

Just installed Office 2008 on MBP running Leopard. Removed all prior Office debris. All programs OK except Word. There are no menu items on the top except "about" and the formatting palette off to the side shows a yellow triangle relating: "The client cannot be shown because necessary files cannot be found. Please re-install Office to restore these important files." I have done this 5 times. Any suggestions-not sure if this is a bad install disc or my bad. Please help

It's a bad installation.

If the disk were bad, it would not install "at all".

On the disk, you should find a "Remove Office" tool in the Additional Tools
folder. Run that, and remove Office 2008 completely.

Then re-install it completely.

You have to Remove first, otherwise the installer finds existing files on
the disk and does not replace them.

That should fix it (and it's quick...). If not, come back and we'll tell
you how to do a Scorched Earth re-install.

Hope this helps
