Formatting Text

I have several text fields (labels) that I have created on a Visio 2003
drawing.

Is it possible to "tag" certain of these text fields so that I can do a mass
format on them without having to individually select them?

IOW, I have certain labels in my drawing that I would like to turn the
visibility on and off for printing. The labels are essential for creating
the drawing but I do not want them to print. Is there a way to automate
this functionality?

Thanks
Dave

Create text styles (Format > Define Styles), then assign styles to the text
fields.
You can easily prevent objects from printing: just assign shapes to layers
and uncheck "Print".
You should combine both, styles and layers.

How do you do that? I've only ever been able to make styles affect all
the text within a shape rather than just part of the text.

Isn't that enough?

You would need to use automation to do a bulk edit on portions of shape
text.

Yes, maybe. Let me rephrase the question. How do you assign a style to
a text field?
