Formatting To Do List report

S

Sandie K

I don't normally like to use the canned reports, but I'm experimenting with
easy ways to enable team members to run their own task lists. I would like to
know if it is possible to re-format the to do list to fit on one page
horizontally. Right now, the "Names" column is expanded so much that the
other columns run over onto a second page horizontally.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,
How are you? Thanks for responding.
When I select the report (which automatically goes into print preview,
apparently the only way to view it), the "fit to one page" is grayed out.
However, I did get to the root of the problem. I created a custom table and
reduced the margin widths there, then used that table in the report. That
worked!

I'd value your opinion on the reports in general. Do you use them, either as
is or customized, or do you create your own reports using custom
filters/views/tables?

Thanks as always for your invaluable help!
Regards,
Sandie

Hi Sandie,

What version of Project are you using? Have you got the latest Service Pack
installed? Have you got the latest printer driver?

I believe that the built-in reports are there for your convenience and use
to get you started. As you get more experienced, you will find it best to
tailor or customize the reports to meet your current needs. I would always
recommend you make copies of the nearest repot to your requirement and give
it suitable name, thus keeping the default reports intact.

You might like to have a look at my series on Microsoft Project in the
TechTrax ezine, particularly #24 on customizing reports, at this site:

(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)
