formatting using tabs

S

steve

When I send bills, I use the tabs to write a description
to the left hand of the page, and the time expended to
the right. Although on both regular view and print
preview the time entries align vertically, they are
skewed when I print the document, as so:

(Print preview)

Phone calls 2.00 hours
Write letter 3.00 hours

(When it prints):

Phone calls 2.00 hours
Write letter 3.00 hours

Can anybody help with this problem?

My guess is that you're using the built-in tab stops rather than custom
ones, and that you're using left tabs rather than right or decimal ones. See
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/SettingTabs.htm. You could also do
this with a table.
