Formatting

Whenever I make any change to a text font, text size, or change an indent
ALMOST ALL formatting in my docuementabove and below where I made the change,
changes too. I lose font size, text font change in some areas and stays set
in other areas, indenting goes askew, and even the bullets in some areas
disappear. I have never had this happen before and cannot figure this out.
Can anyone provide clear instructions on what to do or what to check?
