Former PC user misses the "Alt" keyboard shortcuts for menuchoices

Is it possible to get the underlined character in the menu shortcuts like
the PC version of excel on the Mac version of excel?

I have learned shortcuts like "Alt-D-S" to sort a list, "Alt-F-U" to open
Page setup, etc... Without these my efficiency in Excel is terrible.

Sent using the Entourage X Test Drive.

While you can use the system wide Keyboard Access from the System
Control Panel to drop menus from the keyboard, the closest you'll
proably get is defining your own keyboard shortcuts. You can't use
sequential keys (like Alt-D, then S) but you can define
Ctrl-Option-s, for example, to sort.

To define a shortcut, choose Tools/Customize and click Keyboard.
Find the menu item or control for which you wish to create the
shortcut and add your shortcut keys in the Press new shortcut keys
textbox, then click Add. Define more, or click OK, OK.

If you miss Win XL's F2, you can redefine F2 to enter Edit mode
(with a bit of work). See
