By using FTP you've probably wanked FP extensions. Contact your host and
have them fix the extensions, ALSO double check with your host that your
username/password is correct (sometimes its different then the FTP un/pw).
Then try FP again. Once you use Publish do not go back to using FTP or
you'll wank the extensions again.
