forms in word

I'm making a document template using the forms fill in
fields. I can not figure out how to have information
filled in in one field replicate into other fields in the
document- example, the date appears several places in a
document, at header and at signature line, and I'd liek
to not have to fill in the field in both places.

is there any way to name a field and have data entered in
the field automatically fill into subsequent fields?

Thanks,

If you have a Form field named text1 and you check its "Calculate on Exit"
property (to see the field's properties, right-click and select properties),
then you can have a number of { REF text1 } fields in the body of your
document that will all update when the user tabs out of the text1 field.
However, { REF text1 } fields in e.g. headers and footers will not update
until you print or print preview etc. - you can probably write some VBA
macros to fix that problem but personally I'd try to keep it simple.
