I manage a database that relies on input and updates I get from remote people
via e-mail. I created a table-type Input Form in Word 2007 in which I show
the current data in one column and input fields in the other column for
people to provide updates.
I load the current data by using the Form in a Mail Merge to my Excel file
data. I ran a few tests keeping everything in Word 2007 format and amazingly
all the input field types were kept in tact during the merge.
However, because most people I e-mail to are NOT on Word 2007, I had to
create and save everything in the 97 - 2003 format. This limits me to only
having access to the Legacy Tools, which are not as fancy but more
importantly most are lost during the mail merge. Interestingly, the Drop
Down list tool IS maintained, but not much else.
Is there some way to maintain Legacy Tool selections during a non-2007 mail
merge?
Thanks .... Rick
