forms questions

I am not using VBA in my forms, so I hope this is the right newsgroup.

First, a silly question: If my form is named greatform.doc and it's a survey
so I get back thirty copies of it, do I have to change the names of each
copy by hand so that I can have them all in the same folder? (And by the
way, should I send out my form as a .dot or a .doc? I'm not sure.)

Next, Word help tells me I can complie the data from my forms, but I can't
figure out how. I'd like to get them all into Excel, though getting them all
into one big Word table that I could copy and paste to Excel would be fine
too.

Thanks very much for any help.

I would suggest sending it out as a template (.dot) and including
instructions for the desired filename (so that it will be different for each
user). For example, I send a directory information form to the yacht clubs
belonging to a regional yachting organization and give these instructions:
"Save the filled-in form under the filename <club abbreviation> GYA Info.doc
(for example, BucYC GYA Info.doc for Buccaneer Yacht Club)."

Rad--I was just thinking that might be the way. Thanks as always to the MVPs
for their help.
