Forms skipping Data

I have two forms calls from a main form which display filtered data - these
have been working fine until recently when I have been receiving complaints
about the skipping records - by this I mean they show the correct records,
but when the next record is selected it can skip 2-3 records forward - going
back will find the skipped record

has anyone come across this before..
