Forms that automatically add data.

I am trying to create a database to account for personnel. The information
will come from a personnel database that already exists. We have several
departments and the intent is to have the supervisor submit daily muster
reports for the personnel under their charge. I would like to have them
select their department from a main menu and have a form open query the
existing database for the names of personnel in that department and display
their names like a report would do. The form would be a template and after it
is created I would like to be able to store the data in the form for later
recall. Is there a way to do this? I have basic to intermediate VBA knowledge
and I am learning quickly. Any help would be much appreciated.
