Forms - Unable to view form in reading pane

Greetings,

I am creating a custom form that is used to create an email message to be
sent out to specific team members. I use VBScript to build the message, but
when I receive the email in my mailbox I cannot read it using the Reading
Pane. The message in the reading pane says, "This item contains active
content that cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read
its contents".

I have stripped off the signature and any attachments. How do I determine
what is causing the form to be unviewable in the reader pane?

So I have tracked it down to using the form send handler.

If I add:

Function Item_Send()

End Function

The message will not show up in the reading pane. Any thoughts?

Which version of outlook you used?

If you use Outlook 2003, it is natural. Because if you add some vbscirpt in
form's code, the message will not be shown in reading pane.

But if you use Outlook2007, it will not happen.

Is there any other way to dynamically build the email message without using
VBScript?

You could use VBScript behind the form to create a totally new message and then not send the original custom form message.

Is there any other way to dynamically build the email message without using
VBScript?

Well, yes. There is CDO, in various versions available. But you really,
really do not want to go there. It is a rather bizarre programming language.

And, it would not solve your problem. The restriction is to code behind your
form, not just VBScript.

Item_Send = False
Set newMsg = Application.CreateItem(0)
' set desired properties of newMsg
' and then
newMsg.Send
