have a front half of a database that i use successfully at one pc (where
the back-half is located). i've put the front half on other pc's and linked
them over the network to the back-half successfully. at another store's
location, i repeated this but had some problems. on the main pc, everything
is fine but on another pc, the front half doesn't work at all. it's set up
to open a launcher form at startup, which works, but all of the buttons on
the launcher form don't do anything. either nothing at all happens, a new
window opens for a brief second and then closes right away with no error
message, or a new window opens that is completely white, with no visible
controls on it at all.
this pc is running access 2003, as well as norton antivirus (i was thinking
it was a script-blocking thing -- most/all forms have code in the on-open and
on-load events). i disabled all of that but it didn't make a difference.
macro security in access is set to low as well.
any ideas? thanks.
