Formula Auditing

Hello:
A user of mine is trying to use the formula auditing function without any luck. When he chooses a cell with a function and clicks Trace Precedents from the Auditing Toolbar, nothing happens. I have checked the options->view->show all and it is checked.

Any ideas?

So in a new workbook (as a test) if =A3 is entered in A1 and then Trace
Precedents is selected, no arrow appears?

That is correct. No blue lines

Well the only thing that I can think of that blocks the tracing arrows is to
have Hide All selected under Tools, Options, View, Object, which you already
checked. Sorry.
