Formula Bar in Excel 2004

New to Office on Mac... can't see the formula bar anywhere. Have been through Preferences and checked Formula Bar in View but can't find it. I have to assume I'm missing something very obvious - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why it's missing, but if you don't have any other toolbar
modifications then, with Excel closed, delete the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:Excel Toolbars (11)

file. You should then be able to see it (choose View/Formula Bar if not).

Glad that McGimpsey's answer helps David. But I am in the same fix and find no Microsoft:Excel Toolbars in Library:preferences. I am reluctant to use a bigger hammer.

The file I specified was

Excel Toolbars (11)

in the folder

Library:preferences:Microsoft

which will be produced whenever XL04 toolbars are modified.

You could also try deleting the

com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist

file in the same folder.

Not sure what "bigger hammer" you're talking about, but if the above
doesn't work, post back (or google) for a "small hammer" vba solution.

Ed... I found the file in question within my own users/david/library/preferences/microsoft.
If you use Spotlight to locate 'Excel Toolbars (11)' it'll point you to where you have saved the file.

Hope this helps,
David
