Hi,
unfortunately Excel 2008 does not honor my wishes on tool palette
positioning. Whenever I switch to another app and come back the Formular
Bar will reset to full width dirctly below the menus.

I can't reproduce that with Leopard 10.5.1. What version of Tiger are
you running?

Can you check to see if the problem persists if you move your Dock to
the bottom or right?

An ugly workaround (window zooming is affected) is to leave a few pixels
of space between menu bar and formula bar. As soon as you allow it to
snap to the menu bar it will grow to full width and push anything else
out the way.

Hi Tobias,

I believe I see what you're reporting. Please let me know if these are the
steps that cause the problem:

1. Resize the formula bar horizontally, but leave it docked in its default
location
2. Minimize the workbook window
3. Click on the workbook window in the dock

Result: The Formula Bar resize to the full-width of the screen.

Thanks,

Pat
