Formula Bar

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel How can I add the formula bar to the standard toolbars at the top of the application versus having it just "float" above the spreadsheet when I want to view it.

Why not? It is extremely annoying having that thing in front of other buttons or data all the time!

Then dock it at the top of the screen.

I'm afraid I have nothing to do with the "why's" or "why nots" of any
software developer's design decisions. I can only deal with what *is*.

If you have questions of that nature you'd do best to use the Help> Send
Feedback feature within the respective program. That enables you to submit
your comments/criticisms/suggestions/requests to the people who are involved
with its development. Those users who volunteer their time to assist others
in the newsgroups do not work for Microsoft in any capacity so we can't
change how the software is written even if we wanted to.

Microsoft has received a lot of customer feedback on the floating formula bar and we're currently investigating the feasibility of replacing it with an embedded formula bar in the next release. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
