formula copy and paste without the range chaging

how to I copy and paste a formula without the formula
adjusting the range reference as I paste it to numerous
cells there is a trick or something i trunoff but how what.

Herman,

Copy the formula from the formula bar. Then you can
paste it as text wherever you like and it won't change.
Loses formatting.
OR
Change your formula to absolute references
ie = SUM(A1:A10) to =SUM($A$1:$A$10)
copy and paste the cell, this will keep formatting.
