Formula Displayed Rather Than Result

I am trying to do a simple formula to concatenate the text
string in column A with the same from column B, separated
by a space. The formula is correct.

=concatenate(a2," ",b2)

I have a much more intense formula in another column that
works marvelously, but this one is causing the cell to
display just the written formula itself. When I check on
the Insert Function option, the formula result is exactly
what I want, but I can't get it to display.

Does anyone have any suggestions?! Thank you!!

Probably your cell is formatted as Text. Formatting afterwards doesn't help
Format as General and re-enter the formula.

I would just suggest that the cell is formatted as text. You can go to a
cell that has a number in it and isn't formatted as text, copy and paste it
using CTRL C and CTRL V into the text formatted cell, and it will copy the
formatting over. Or try to go format>cells and change to general.
