Formula in a table

I need to perform a calculation in a table. I know I
should use a spreadsheet, but there are reasons such as
formatting why that is not possible. What I need to do is
to subtract one cell from another. I finally located the
table cell helper macro through the MVP site so that I
could identify the table cells. Now I need to subtract d4
from d2. The problem might be that both of these are form
fields. In any case I cannot get the formula =SUM(d2,-d4)
to work. It seems to ignore d2. By the way, I bookmarked
the cells in the hope that I could use the bookmarks in
the calculation. If that is possible, Help gives no
indication, although the formula dialog box suggests that
it is possible. Can anybody offer a suggestion, or get me
pointed int he right direction?

Bruce,

Double click on the d2 formfield and check calculate on exit
Do the same in d4

In your calculation cell put in another form field, double click it, select
calculation for the type and put =d2-d4 in the expression window.

Thanks for the pointers. I will not get a chance to try
them until next week, but I think calculate on exit and
the use of a calcualtion field are prpbably what I was
missing. Word's help on the topic is sketchy at best.
