Formula in Word 2010

Sonnich Jensen

Hi

I am using the latest version of Word.

Now, I recall eqations, which I need now:

such as

=value*rate

But I cannot find how to add a formula in the new version?

I want to add numbers without calculating every single number

You're looking for the = (formula) field? You can use Insert | Text | Quick
Parts | Field, and it's the first one listed (click the Formula... button
and get the dialog).

Alternatively, if you are working in a table, then there is a Formula button
on the contextual Table Tools | Layout tab (far right end).

If you're wanting to do simple calculations with numbers in plain text, you
can use the old ToolsCalculate command. As explained in
http://WordFAQs.mvps.org/ToolsCalculate.htm, this command was removed from
the UI in later Word versions, but it's still available in the Customize the
Quick Access Toolbar list under All Commands (as "Calculate").
Unfortunately, it has no button image, and in Word 2010 you can't design
your own.
