Formula labels

I created a spreadsheet in Excel 2004 for Mac and sent it to a friend who
has a PC with VISTA. He said the labels don't work in the version of Excel
he has. Is there a way to get labels to work cross-platform? I was using
labels which combine column and row headings.

Or would defined names work any better?

Use Defined Names. In Excel2007 labels don't work anymore. I don't think
they work in Excel2008 for Mac either.
