Formula name

Hello,

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to copy/paste a
formula into the Name>Define>Refers To box. I've used
named formulas many times but just typed the formula in.
This formula is very long and complex and I just don't
feel like typing it into the Refers To box. Can
someone 'guide' me through this please? It's got to be
simple but I'm overlooking something.

TIA
Sandy

Sandy, copy the formula and use Ctrl v to put it in the refers to box

It should work fine as long as you click in the cell with the formula, then
highlight the formula in the formula bar, then Edit, Copy, then go to the
Define Name box and paste away...

Hey. The Copy Ctrl-v is a good way to go, but do you ever need to edit the
big fat excel formula in the little refers-to box? Does pressing the arrow
keys insert unwanted cell references into the formula? Press the F2 key and
the relative reference feature is turned off and you can edit normally.

Hey Hey!

I always run into that in conditonal formatting. What a
pain! Thanks for the tip.
