Formula not working

I am using this formula:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(Participants!P5:p439="Y"),--(Participants!K5:K439="Grey")--(Participants!J5:J439="L"))
to find the number or team members who have qualified (Y), for a (L) large
grey shirt.

By sorting the list several ways and using countif, I know the answer is 8,
but the above formula is returning 53. I have tried change the order of
things, but I still get the wrong answer.

Can anyone help? No rush!! Thanks
