Formulas behaving badly

J

John Mck

I copy a formula from one worksheet cell to another
worksheet cell and it works, I see the calulated value.
If I double click the new cell it brings up the formula.
But if I change nothing and click the CHECK mark in seems
to convert the formula to text and display the formula in
the cell rather than the calculated value.

I also notice that if I attempt to edit the formula it
does not highlight the argument values if they are in a
separate work sheet. I have EXCEL 2002 SP-1

But if I change nothing and click the CHECK mark.....
Not sure what you mean by that, please explain?

John,

I can't reproduce this problem Excel 2002. Post the formula, and perhaps
the contents of its precedents (the cells to which it refers).
