Formulas broken in SP2?

P

PJK

This maddening little bug only appeared after applying SP2. Here's what
it's doing, and I can replicate it every time. Its driven me nuts for
an hour now, and I am dead in the water on this one without a fix.

1. Create a new worksheet.

2. Put in a numerical value in cell A1

3. In cell A2, enter the formula "=A1" (You can add more math to the
formula, but keep it simple for now...)

4. Change the value in cell A1. Hit tab or return.

The value in A2 remains UNCHANGED. Hence the formula in A2 is not
working. Please help!!!!

Try selecting Preferences/Calculation/Automatic

Oh thank GOD. That worked! You're a lifesaver. I would never have known
that there was a checkbox that actually turned OFF the calculations.

Why the heck would anyone turn that off?!

PJK,
If you workbook's got loads of formulas to calculate it can get
frustatingly slow while you're editing it. This is when you turn off
automatic calculation. You just press F9 when you want to see the end
result.
