formula's in Mac version versus PC version

Greetings:

I am beginning to use MS Excel---but have the need to work
on both a PC and a Mac.

When I write a spreadsheet, are the formulas for computing
identical for PC and Mac? In other words, if I write
formula's on a PC platform (which is most likely use
primarly), will the worksheets open on a Mac (Panther OS)
w/all the formatting and w/o loss of data, etc.?

Conversely, **IF** I end up working from a remote site on
a Mac, and write a spreadsheet, will the PC (Windows 2000
or later) seamlessly open the spreadsheet w/o loss of data
integrity, etc.?

Many thanks!

For the most part, things are pretty much identical between a Mac and PC at
the spread sheet level. You may find slightly different formatting issues if
the 2 platforms do not have the same fonts. You do not need to worry about
data integrity or formulas on the worksheets.
